Members and friends of the Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw are active at the church and in the community. Here are some of our ongoing activities.
Sunday Service
Our Sunday service begins at 10:30 am and lasts about one hour. We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of each month. All are welcome to share Communion.
Choir
The choir is an integral part of the worship service and weaves in and out of the service. Members practice once each week, and new members are always welcome. Reading music, while useful, is not required. There are about 10 members of the choir currently.
Soup/Sandwich/Speaker or SSS
Once a month we try to have a potluck soup, sandwich (or salad), and dessert. A speaker on a topic of current interest follows the meal.
Children and Youth
Nursery care and Sunday School are available each Sunday morning.
Presbyterian Women (PW)
PW is open to all women of the church. It meets monthly from September through May, usually in Fellowship Hall, for fellowship and a monthly Bible study. In June we have a potluck picnic.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Knitters and crocheters gather twice monthly to make prayer shawls for the sick, elderly, veterans, and others in need.
Needlers
Everyone who does some kind of needlework is invited for this drop-in handiwork session. You can learn a new skill or share your knowledge with skilled needleworkers. We have quilters, sewers, knitters, crocheters, cross stitchers, etc. Bring your favorite drink or we'll fix coffee and tea.
